Baltimore FSC is proud to announce that we have attained 'Exceeded Standard' for Skate Ontario's CanSkate Excellence Recognition Program.
CanSkate is a dynamic, learn-to-skate program that focuses on fun, participation and basic skill development.
Series of balance, control and agility skills that will prepare skaters for any ice skating sport or recreational skating.
Led by Nationally Certified Coaches trained specifically in teaching the mechanics and proper technique of skating; coaches are assisted by trained program assistants.
You can expect Action, Movement and Fun in this program! Lessons are delivered in a group format.
Skaters progress at their own rate and coaches make sessions active using teaching aids, upbeat music and a wide variety of activities that create a motivated environment and promote learning.
A CSA approved hockey helmet, long pants, mittens, warm sweater/jacket and skates are required for this program.
CanSkate - Parent & Tot can be used an option for skaters who require hands-on assistance getting up and maneuvering on the ice.
"Parent" includes members of the skater's household or members of their social circle.
All participants must be registered with Skate Canada ($60 fee for 1 parent; $120 for 2 parents - only 1 parent is permitted on-ice, per skater, per session).
Parents must be able to effectively skate on their own and support their skater, if necessary.
Parents will be responsible for assisting their own skater.
A CSA approved hockey helmet are required for this program, should their own skating level be below Stage 5 or equivalent.
Pre-STARSkate is a program for skaters who have successfully completed their Stage 3 CanSkate badge, and who are interested in moving towards entering Skate Canada STARSkate Program.
All sessions include a 50-minute group lesson provided by Nationally Certified Coaches.
All skaters are required to wear CSA approved, and properly fastened hockey helmets (no bike helmets) during skating sessions. Helmets must be worn until your child has completed Stage 5 (as per Skate Canada). No exceptions.
Pre-STARSkate skaters share ice time with our StarSkate students with their own dedicated program that is geared to skaters who show an interest in figure skating and have a basic skating background.
STARSkate
